If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions
So lose not heart, nor fall into despair: For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in Faith.
This post was inspired by Mufti Menk's video I watched a few days ago. Or was it Zakir Naik? Okay I forgot. Frankly, I don't really understand the English translation of the Quran (because we have been learning Pendidikan Islam in Malay), so I added the Malay translation for reference.
Sometimes, we, as slaves of Allah, face times where we question things. Why this and why that. Sometimes it can be explained by mere Science, like the changes in weather or the phases of the moon. But more often than not, we find things that we need not question. Rather, we just have to believe in it. Like the oneness of God that is Allah.
OK, I don't know where this is going. I'm not that good at this kind of stuff. Sorry about that. But I want to share is that in everything we do, never leave Allah out of the equation. No matter what we do and how much we sacrificed, the decision is in His hands. His and His only. Do it for the sake of Allah. Whatever the outcome is not a parameter to decide whether we have succeeded or not. Quoted from someone I don't remember, "It is better to earn failure with barakah, than to earn success without barakah, for the latter might lead us to the wrong path". May Allah protect us.
And why am I saying all this? Because we have to keep reminding ourselves that seeking His pleasure is far more important that chasing worldly success. If we believe that what we get is the best for us, for He is Al-Alim, the Most Knowledgeable, we will be strong enough to face the path outlined for us. There is no need to compare with others, for what is written for them is different than what is written for us.
I don't know if I got the message right. Again, I apologise so deeply. Maaf. I'm not an expert when it comes to stuff like these. Well, there's always room for improvement, InsyaAllah.
~Wallahua'lam
p/s: some of us might not be aware of it, but the spelling goes الله_اعلم ,as in Wallahua'lam instead of Wallahualam
