The silence of the night just crept in, only to be broken by the sound of the air conditioner and the fan. We were sitting in one group, all faces eager to listen to the next person. Two days, and we're going to be separated; some of us at least. That night was the only night that we could gather as a whole, as one huge family of 4K1, for in a matter of hours, some are going to be home for good, never to come back till the start of the following year insyaAllah.
We're having something quite out of the ordinary tonight; a moment of silence and appreciation for shared feelings, of how each and every one of us felt throughout this year. Indeed, being in PERMATApintar provided a whole new experience for its students, each with their own different back stories. I was glad that all of us were able to disclose this part of their lives and more.
I may not be the best when it comes to describing someone, but I'll try my best nevertheless. And I'll do it in alphabetical order.
Abdul Rasyid
4K1's Class representative and College Treasurer. I guess that's the first thing that comes to your mind when you see him. He's a jovial guy. I've known him since last year during PPCS, just as we were heading back to our college after Talentime. I had to stand in the bus as there were no seats left. He, as you guys must've guessed, was sitting right next to me. I didn't notice him until the time when the bus had a sudden halt and his phone was dropped due to the forces of inertia. Little did I know that in a matter of a few months, we shall be group members during orientation week and classmates for the whole year. I really had fun having him as a friend. He's funny, likes to "buat muka", generous with chocolate, and is always enthusiastic all the time. Yup, that's Rasyid. And to be frank, he's the best class representative out there. :D But I do hate him so much for wasting so much water in the shower. I'll miss him a lot.
Ahmad Haikal
Known this guy since 2011 PPCS, when we were in the same KTP course. He was undeniably quiet previously, and had finally revealed that he's not that quiet after all. I still remembered when the class name list had just been released, he said to me, "Hey, we're in the same class". "Slow and Steady". That's the best phrase to describe him, as he holds on to the saying "just go with the flow". He does things slowly but with great precision. I see him in the future as a well-renowned architect. He has mad badminton and math skills. I think he's an interesting character in 4K1" and makes the class livelier than ever. He also has a hidden talent of cracking up jokes and pulling off pranks (beware).
Alifah Ilyana
Biotechnology course in PPCS was what led me to know Alifah. We weren't really much close friends, but being in the same class with her has allowed me to know her better. I guess everyone's first impression on her is a reserved girl, but once you're familiar with her, she's a great companion. Caring and selfless. Always think of others and finds the best way to give a helping hand. She's strong and optimistic. I salute her, really, for being able to draw her lips to a warm smile even though she's facing such trials as we speak. I feel honoured to have had a friend like her, for it touches my heart each time she gives words of advice.
Arathi
I envy her charisma. She's famous for being an unrealistically massive fan of unicorns and I love the plushie that she received during her birthday. She left a huge mark in PERMATApintar when she became the representative for WSC and Mighty Minds. Grammar Nazi is also something she's known with. I'm not sure how she does it because I never actually saw her correcting someone's grammar in real life. She's the type who does things in and orderly fashion, which is apparent through her handwriting (I mean, they look so tidy and so uniformed and so typed-ish). She loves being a kid, not wanting to admit that she really is a grown up :P
Karthigeyan
369. I bore in mind, since the day that he spoke to me of it, that 369 is his favourite number. Sarcasm is his thing. Sometimes I don't even get what he was actually trying to say because I'm really bad at detecting sarcasms. He's very bright and diligent. A helping hand if you get to know him better. He has keen insights on the world and avengers and stuff. From the way I see it, he's a huge fan of transformers and avengers. I mean, he has avengers in his blog name and transformers as his blog background. His badminton skills deserve an applause. He's a good sport, and a great leader during our Jati Diri camp. He's interesting to have around.
Lydia
Unique and talented. Loves burying her face in 3-inch thick books of which I never dreamt of reading. She has a broad view of the world. The choices of words she so excellently picked up in her writing clearly demonstrates her years spent reading books and philosophy. Lydia may be usually seen studying, but trust me, there's a lot more to her than that. Mysterious is how everybody sees her, but that's what's different about her. I guess she has a clear vision of the future, creating mental images of what she would do in the next couple of years to come. She has a humourous side too, that is probably not evident in the public's point of view.
Mohammad Aiman
The first distinctive thing about Aiman is his accent, which is apparently agreed by most other people. He's kinda cute and funny. Recently, the students of PERMATApintar were able to witness his hidden talent, when his infamous cover of When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars went viral. He loves reading as much as I do, and sometimes I think he reads more than I ever did. He's fun to hang out with. I won't be surprised if one day he appears on television as some sort of comedian, and I'll be the first person to laugh at his jokes. I still remember his "smesy action" during aerobic at the very beginning of the year. Yep, he certainly has the looks of an entertainer.
Muhammad Iqbal
Just throw him into any sports arena and he'll be able to survive. That's Iqbal. Be it badminton, ping pong, football, volleyball, softball. You name it. It's his not-so-hidden talent I suppose, because everyone knows how well he is in sports. One time, I saw him have a racket in one hand and a phone in the other during a badminton game. Hmph. Hebat sangat la tu. Oh, and one more thing. *whispers* People say he's hot... I don't know. I'm not good at judging people's heat, or even warmth for that matter. In the beginning of the year, I thought he was some kind of poyo guy (sorry about that), but as months passed, I come to conclude that my first impressions may always be wrong.
Muhammad Nur Iqbal
Macam chipsmore. Sekejap ada, sekejap takda. I don't know much about him, to be frank. He loves to sit all by himself but I do feel that we should approach him. He has potential, I admit that, and if he really puts his heart into something, he can achieve things beyond his expectations. He can be a great leader, being a head librarian and all. Hopefully he'll find his true passion one day, InsyaAllah.
Muhammad Hisyam
Most probably people would assume that he's an innocent, silent young boy. Well, technically he kinda is. But after months and months of knowing him, he has proven otherwise. Hisyam has gone more into the loyar buruk side, which makes me wonder if Kasdi has anything to do with it. He always pretends not to hear when his name is being called, acting as if he's too engaged in something that he's shut away from the world. He makes me laugh. When given a task, Hisyam will put his best effort in accomplishing it. He was the one in charge of our counseling sessions. He was the one entrusted by Mr. H to deliver instructions if he's not in class. Loyal and trustworthy.
Nurain Nasuha
HAHAHA. The way she acts, talks, walks. It just tickles my funny bone when she's around. No offense though. She has the confidence of a prime minister, the speech of a lawyer, and the smile of a hyena; not to mention she has the looks of an evil villain. Again, all these are just honest compliments. She's a tough, strong all rounder. She's the one who'll never leave a friend's side no matter what. She's willing to sacrifice her time for others. It's an honor to have her in the same team, great to have her as a friend, and certainly awesome to have her on my list of classmates. A protective member of the family, and if we were to be a pack of lions, I guess she's the lioness XD
Nur Amalin
Amalin is her name, music is her game. It's baffling to see someone blow that long, tube-like structure to produce such harmonious melodies. If I were told to do the exact same thing, I won't doubt that even the toughest glass would crack. I'd love to see her perform one day, on stage, and I can proudly say, "Hey, that's my friend over there". She's friendly and amicable, and I sometimes wonder how one has that many friends. She's smart and diligent. She's the one to have around whenever you're feeling down. Oh, and her braces, are so gorgeous, changing colours every two months or so. Looks cute when she smiles. Ngee..
Nurul Shyazwani
Kpoper. That's the best word to describe her. She would spend hours on end watching Korean dramas, Korean music videos, Korean movies, and everything Korean that I don't even understand. I suppose that's where she gets her creativity. She has a wild imagination equivalent to that of a Korean producer. She's really nice to hang out with, and can be really funny sometimes. Currently she's my Exco mate. She's resourceful and not afraid to be in front of an audience. I still remember that time when she was awarded "the best chicken" during our Jati Diri camp. Unforgettable.
So by now you guys must've noticed that one person, whose name should be between Arathi's and Karthigheyan's, has not been mentioned. I know what you're thinking. "save the best for the last". Well don't apply it here. So here we go. Last but not least..
Haziq
"Kau la perempuan pertama yang sebut nama aku kat sekolah nie. Aku terfikir, budak nie gila ka.." Haziq said in our class gathering that night. I was like, really arh??? I never knew that. Well, I did have my own reasons for calling out his name all of a sudden. Hehe. I don't know why but at some point of this year, I do have that feeling that I can somehow relate to him. Is it the fact that we were both born on the same month, with him being merely three days older? Or is it that we had spent some of our school years in Sabah, and more specifically Kota Kinabalu, and I've even been to his previous school once. That time in the beginning of the year, when he introduced himself and said that he hates sejarah and bm, I thought to myself, "weyh, sama laa.." And we even shared the same classroom during SAT test because our dads have the same initials. Both of us can't roll our tongue. I can't fail to smile to myself ever time he's careless. That time during SPM when he misplaced his slip kemasukan and spent much time looking for it, I experienced the same thing with my ic on the same morning, only that I was fortunate to have found it earlier. And the list goes on and on and on, so I better stop where it's safe. He reminds me of myself. He probably never noticed the similarities at all, but I think it's better that way. Haziq is great when it comes to loyar buruk. He can be described as someone emotionless and callous, at least from my point of view. But at the same time he cares for others, thinking about them even though he doesn't show it. He can be humorous, and sarcastic, but as I said I'm not good at detecting sarcasm. I love his advices. Lately, I am beginning to doubt the percentage of "guyness" in him due to some unavoidable causes. And I have to, no matter how much I hate to, admit that he does look cute in a way.
As for me, I'm just a humble addition to the already-awesome class of 4K1 2013. I hope that each ion in this ionic bond would remain as ions, donating electrons and accepting them. I apologize for any mistakes that I've made, including ones from this blog.
We never had a full selfie of the whole class. So here are some :D
